Pickleball sports are popular throughout the country, with exciting and diverse events and activities

In recent years, as an emerging sport, Pickleball sports has shown a vigorous development trend in China. Various types of Pickleball competitions and promotional activities have been held in various places, attracting many enthusiasts to participate and becoming a new hotspot for national fitness.
Pickleball originated in the 1960s on Benwich Island in Seattle, USA. It is a cross net competitive ball sport that combines various elements such as tennis, table tennis, badminton, etc. It has the characteristics of strong fun, fast getting started, and suitable for people of all ages. It is vividly described as "playing tennis on the badminton court with a table tennis racket"

On September 21st, the Ningbo Pickleball Popularization and Promotion Series of Activities was first launched in Yuyao. It entered Xinjian Primary School in the form of "one person, one skill" sports skills public welfare training, introducing the basic rules, venue requirements and other theoretical knowledge of Pickball to teachers, and helping everyone master the essentials of the movements through group exercises. Afterwards, on September 26th, a coaching training for Pickball was held at Jingxiu Academy in Ningbo High tech Zone, with more than 60 enthusiasts participating. They will become the first batch of coaches in the High tech Zone and promote the popularization of Pickball in the local area. On September 27th, the Qianwan New Area in Ningbo also held the "Welcoming National Day" mixed team badminton tournament and the 2024 Pickleball into the Organization promotion activity. Nearly a hundred officials participated and were given Pickleball equipment and teaching guidance on site, enabling them to quickly master Pickleball skills

In September, the Sports Bureau of Ganzhou City held the "Welcome Eleven" Pickleball Competition at the Wulong Hakka Cultural Park from September 27th to 30th. The competition was held in five individual events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The athletes fully demonstrated the charm and sportsmanship of the sport of Pickleball

Entering October and November, there will be a constant stream of Pickleball matches. On October 20th, 2024, the "Huati Cup" China Pickleball Open Jiangxi Lushan Xihai City Tournament came to an end. After fierce competition, 149 players from all over the country won the singles and doubles championships in the open and evergreen groups. This competition has set up three islands, Yunju Island, Mingzhu Island, and Goddess Island, as well as the Jianghu Building Water Peak Stadium, allowing athletes to enjoy the lake and mountain scenery while competing and experiencing the unique charm of "competition+tourism".

On November 2nd, the "DEKSX Star Cup" 2024 Shandong Province Pickleball Championship was held at Dongying Port Pickball Theme Park in Xianhe Town, Dongying City, with a total of 14 teams and over 100 athletes participating. The Shandong Small Ball Sports Federation has stated that it will launch a development plan for the sport of pickleball around three major aspects: event organization, training programs, and promotion activities, in order to promote its popularization and development within the province

On November 3rd, the "Li Ning Cup" 2024 First National Pickball Championship, hosted by the Small Ball Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the China Pickleball Working Committee, and the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, came to a successful conclusion at the Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park in Xinjin District, Chengdu. Nearly a hundred Pickleball athletes from Beijing, Tianjin, Henan, Guangdong, Chongqing, and other places participated in the competition, closely focusing on the concept of "traveling with the competition", deeply integrating sports and tourism elements, and creating a high-quality Pickleball event with cultural heritage.

In addition, the 2024 Yellow River Basin Nine Provinces and Regions Pickleball Baotou Invitational, held from November 15th to 16th, has also attracted a lot of attention. More than 300 Pickleball enthusiasts from more than 20 provinces and cities along the Yellow River and other provinces and regions gathered in Baotou. Participants were divided into age groups of 16 and above and 40 and above, fully demonstrating the inclusiveness of the sport of pickleball.

It is worth mentioning that in the recent 2024 Paris Olympics, pickleball was listed as an Olympic performance event for the first time, which undoubtedly further enhanced its attention and influence in China.

With the continuous popularization and development of pickleball, more and more places have begun to attach importance to and actively promote this sport. Through various forms such as organizing competitions and training, more people can understand and participate in it, and feel the happiness and health brought by pickleball.
